The 218th MP Co barracks shown above at Camp McDermott, were similar construction to most Army barracks in Vietnam during the late sixties. The floor of the first level was concrete while the floor above was wood. Sides were slatted to about halfway up with screening from floor to ceiling. The roof was metal as was the awning over the first floor window opening. In smaller groups such as the detachments, troops were sometimes billeted in quonset huts like the one at right in Vung Ro Bay.
